Catch me if you can!

Will there ever be a condition under which it can be healthy and right for a lady to make the first move for a date with a guy or make a proposal for marriage? It use to be that it is part of virtues for a lady to keep within her veil until the guy comes knocking and even then, she must prove enough virtues by hiding still, saying as it were in the title of an American film, "Catch me if you can". So the chase continues until she is willing to surrender. The longer the chase, the better the man values his uneasy damsel! But times are changing, aren't they?
